An inactive way of life influences mind

Lack of physical activity threatens the person not only with excess weight, but also with mental disorder, starting from depression and finishing with serious diseases. To such conclusion came British scientists.

On their data, for today in Britain only 35 % of men and only 24 % of women support the physical activity at the recommended by experts level.

According to results of the researches, inactive people have twice more chances to fall into depression in comparison with active people. Besides, there are valid data proving that physical activity is a good medicine for depression.

Researchers from university of the English city of Bristol have established that physical activity reduces risk of primary neuronal degeneration’s development by a third. Scientists cannot explain such significant effect; however assume that it can be caused by improvements in cardiovascular system’s functioning, and also change of chemical processes in a brain.

Norm of physical activity for adults, recommended by British Ministry of Health, makes 30 minutes a day five times a week. According to this department, this recommendation is not kept by the most part of adult population of the country.
