The list of most depressive professions
Employees of the American Department of narcological and psychiatric services have studied interconnection between professional work and risk of depression and made a rating of the most depressive professions, informs The Washington Post.
During the research experts considered data of the National Survey of Drug Use and Health in which took part more than 60 thousand working people in the age from 18 till 64 years.
As it appeared, the greatest number of people which suffer from depression worked in sphere of elderly and sick people care. Also this category included the nurses who were looking after small children. Almost 11 % of people working in this sphere, annually suffer from depression for two and more weeks.
The second occupied workers of public catering - waiters, cooks and barmen, as approximately 10,3 % from them have been subject to bad mood which was accompanied by sleep disturbances, loss of appetite and impairment of attention concentration.
The third place took the workers of social sphere and public health services - about 9,6 % from them suffered from depression.
