Stress at work leads to a cancer

October 22nd, 2007

Women, who experience stress at work, have bigger chances to be taken ill with breast cancer, - have found out scientists. If work morally exhausts, the risk of this illness raises by 30 percents.

Results of this research, which covers 36 thousand women, deny the previous researches, which have not revealed connection between stress and breast cancer, informs Daily Mail.

Annually 44 thousand women are diagnosed with “breast cancer”. 12 thousand die from this disease every year. Though death rate from it is reduced, the number of fallen ill constantly grows. The reasons are an unhealthy mode of life, poor ecology, alcoholism, refusal to breast-feed and late delivery.

The new research, which will be published in the nearest number of Epidemiology magazine, is focused on stress.

The reason, why stress can increase risk of cancer, is not clear meanwhile. The previous researches say about possible increase of estrogen which can provoke cancer. Other theory is in that that the stress changes behavior of women, forcing them to lead a wrong way of life, to smoke and so on.

Meantime, the earlier Denmark examination of 7 thousand women, which lasted for 18 years, has shown an opposite results: the women, who experience a lot of stress, more rarely are ill with breast cancer.
